He gained experience in US National Championships such as the Florida Winter Tour and Skusa Protour. In 2016, he secured a podium position in the Rok Cup Midwest Round 2, finishing first.

Aguilera's karting achievements led to his selection as an official driver for Escuderia Telmex in 2017.
