Georgi Donchev is a Bulgarian racing driver born on January 4, 1983. Donchev's journey into motorsport began with amateur events between 2008 and 2014. In 2012, he showcased his organizational skills by creating the Overdrive Lap Battle, an amateur racing event. His professional racing career took off in 2014 when he participated in the Porsche Sports Cup Endurance with a Porsche GT3 Cup car. The following year, he joined the Porsche Super Sports Cup.
Donchev's career highlights include multiple starts in the Porsche Sports Cup and Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. He achieved a significant milestone in 2018, securing second place in the highly competitive ProAm class of the Porsche Sports Cup Endurance. Throughout his racing journey, he has been associated with teams such as Huber Racing and Overdrive Racing, amassing over 35 starts, 16 podium finishes, 8 wins, and one championship title. In 2023, he narrowly missed out on the ProAm class title in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland, finishing third overall.
Donchev is the founder of Overdrive Racing Team and the Overdrive Lap Battle format.
