Gareth Howell

Gareth Howell, born on January 6, 1981, is a British racing driver with a career highlighted by success in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). Howell's journey in motorsport began at a young age, driving his first kart at age 4 and racing competitively from age 8. His early career was marked by significant achievements in karting, including a British karting championship and a European Cup win. He honed his skills alongside future stars like Jenson Button and Dan Wheldon.

Howell transitioned to cars at 16, entering the Fiesta Si Championship and later the Ford Credit Fiesta Championship. In 1998, he became the youngest race winner in the Ford Credit Fiesta Championship's history at just 18. Progressing through the ranks, he debuted in the BTCC in 2000, driving a Ford Focus in the Production class. Between 2000 and 2008, Howell secured three wins in the BTCC. Beyond racing in BTCC, Howell won the first ever Zing Trofeo Abarth 500 GB in 2008.

Since 2010, Howell has worked as a test driver, initially for McLaren Automotive, where he contributed to the development of their supercar range. He later served as the Chief Test Driver for Gordon Murray Automotive, further cementing his expertise in vehicle development.
