Alex Sawer

Alex Sawer, also known as Sawer Hoàng Đạt, is a 16-year-old Vietnamese racing driver making waves in the international motorsport scene. Born in 2008 to an English father and Vietnamese mother, and with his family residing in Ho Chi Minh City, Sawer proudly represents Vietnam in international competitions. His racing journey began in karting, where he quickly gained recognition before transitioning to single-seaters.

In 2023, Sawer competed in the F4 Indian Championship, securing a race win and six podium finishes, ultimately finishing fifth in the driver standings. His impressive performance opened doors to further opportunities. In April 2024, he joined BlackJack Racing for the opening round of the FIA F4 Chinese Championship, even racing on the same bill as the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix. He achieved a first and second-place finish in two races in Shanghai and is currently second in the standings. Adding to his rapid ascent, Sawer is also set to debut in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) in 2024, joining the Finnish team KIC Evans GP.

Sawer's talent is being nurtured by former Malaysian F3 racer Mitch Gilbert, who serves as his mentor. With his demonstrated skill and determination, Alex Sawer is quickly establishing himself as a rising star in motorsport, marking a significant milestone as one of the first Vietnamese drivers to compete at this level. He has stated his excitement for the challenges ahead in FRECA, eager to gain experience and progress further on the FIA Global Pathway.
