Simo Laaksonen, born on September 10, 1998, is a Finnish racing driver with a career spanning various levels of motorsport. Laaksonen began making a name for himself in karting, achieving notable success early on, including multiple Finnish championships in KF3 (2011, 2012) and KF2 (2013) categories, along with a KF2 NEZ Championship in 2013.
Transitioning to single-seaters, Laaksonen competed in the French F4 Championship in 2014 and 2015, securing a win and several podiums. He further honed his skills in the SMP F4 Championship and the ADAC Formula 4 Championship. In 2017, he participated in the Euroformula Open Championship with Campos Racing, achieving two podiums and finishing 6th overall. Laaksonen also gained experience in the GP3 Series, driving for Campos Racing in 2018, where he scored a podium finish in the reversed-grid race at Abu Dhabi.
