Coby Shield

Coby Shield is an American racing driver with a proven track record in multiple racing disciplines. He has secured numerous National and Class Championships throughout his career, establishing himself as a reliable and respected professional in the racing community.

Shield's early career began in time trials. He later transitioned to racing, achieving significant success. Justin Emanuel from Carroll Shelby Racing recognized Shield's talent and offered him a ride in the team's Mustang Boss 302S race car. Together, they won the NASA National Championship in their first year. In 2022, Coby coached and co-drove with Brady Behrman in International GT, achieving multiple wins and finishing second in the Championship, even though they joined the series midway through the year.

Currently, Coby competes in GT4 America with Van der Steur Racing, alongside his co-driver and car owner Brady Behrman, for the 2023 racing season. Besides racing, Shield also dedicates time to coaching aspiring drivers. He offers private coaching sessions at various tracks across the country, providing data review, data laps, and trackside radio support to help drivers improve their skills. Previously, while working at Kaizen Autosport as a racing school instructor, he won multiple Gridlife class championships and an SCCA TT national championship, setting over 10 track records in the process.
