Alexandre Prémat, born on November 5, 1982, is a French racing driver with a diverse and successful career spanning various motorsport disciplines. Prémat began his racing journey in karting, showcasing his talent early on by winning the Coupe du Monde de Karting in 1999 and the Champion de France FC 125cc title in 2000. He transitioned to single-seaters, winning the French Formula Renault title in 2002. He further solidified his reputation in Formula Three, where he clinched victories at the prestigious Macau Grand Prix and Marlboro Masters.
Prémat's career also includes stints in the GP2 Series, where he raced alongside future Formula 1 stars like Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton, achieving multiple wins and high championship finishes. He also briefly ventured into Formula 1 as a test driver for Spyker MF1 Racing in 2006. Beyond single-seaters, Prémat has excelled in sports car racing, driving for Audi in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2008, he won the Le Mans Series title with Audi Sport Team Joest.
More recently, Prémat has found success in the Australian Supercars Championship. He won the Pirtek Enduro Cup in 2016 with Shane van Gisbergen and the Bathurst 1000 in 2019 with Scott McLaughlin. He is currently an endurance race co-driver for Tickford Racing. Off the track, Prémat resides in Las Vegas and is involved in the EXR Racing Series.
