Yard quickly immersed himself in competitive driving, completing numerous driving days and a High-Performance Driving Education (HPDE) event with Longhorn Racing Academy. His dedication led him to the Porsche Sport Driving School in Birmingham, Alabama, where he earned his competition license, signed by famed driver Hurley Haywood.
Yard made his mark in Porsche Club of America racing at the Circuit of the Americas, Austin's Formula 1 track. He qualified fastest in his first race and secured second place in the GTB1 class and third in the endurance race. These impressive results earned him both the "Hard Charger" and "Rookie of the Race" awards.
