Juichi Wakisaka, born on July 29, 1972, is a former Japanese racing driver with a career highlighted by success in the Super GT series. Wakisaka secured three GT500 class championships in 2002, 2006, and 2009. His first title came in 2002 driving a Toyota Supra GT with Akira Iida. The other two championships were achieved piloting a Lexus SC 430 with André Lotterer.
Before making his mark in Super GT, Wakisaka competed in Formula Nippon and Japanese Formula 3, winning the All-Japan Formula Three championship in 1996. He even had a brief stint as a test driver for the Jordan Grand Prix Formula One team before the 1998 season. He started racing carts at age 19, and advanced to the All-Japan Championship, F3 category, and ultimately became a test driver for F1.
Wakisaka retired from driving after the 2015 Super GT season and transitioned to team management, becoming the team director for Lexus Team LeMans Wako's. Beyond racing, he is known for his vibrant personality and was a regular presenter on Best Motoring. His brother, Shigekazu Wakisaka, also competes in Super GT.
