Joerg Weidinger

Jörg Weidinger is a German racing driver and development engineer for BMW M. Born on May 28, 1975, Weidinger has been involved in motorsport for over 20 years, participating in hill climbs, circuit racing, slalom, and rallies, primarily with BMW models. He is known for his versatility and ability to extract the maximum performance from a vehicle, demonstrated by his record lap times on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Weidinger's expertise extends beyond driving. As a development engineer at BMW M since 2013, he plays a crucial role in the driving dynamics of M vehicles. He is responsible for suspension tuning and the integration of various components to achieve the optimal driving experience. He was responsible for the suspension tuning of models like the BMW M4 CSL. His work ensures that BMW M cars deliver the performance and handling that enthusiasts expect.

Some of Weidinger's career highlights include two European Hill Climb Championship titles and two German Hill Climb Championship titles. He is also known for setting a remarkable 7:20.207 minute lap time in the BMW M4 CSL on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. He also lapped the Nürburgring in 7:28 in the BMW M4 GTS. Beyond his racing achievements, Weidinger is also an instructor at BMW Driving Experience. He also owns a rare BMW M5 E34 special edition "20 Jahre BMW Motorsport".
