Christopher van der Drift

Christopher Jason van der Drift, born on March 8, 1986, is a New Zealand racing driver with Dutch descent. Van der Drift began his motorsport journey in karting, achieving considerable success with multiple New Zealand Karting championships. In 2003, he transitioned to Europe, entering a BMW scholarship program and winning it on his first attempt, which led to his participation in the German Formula BMW Championship in 2004, where he became champion.

Van der Drift's career includes racing in various series such as Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and NEC where he was champion in both, International Formula Master where he was also champion, GP2 Series Asia, World Series by Renault 3.5, and A1GP. A severe accident in 2010 at Brands Hatch nearly ended his life, but he recovered and continued racing. After the accident, he competed in the World Series by Renault 3.5, Auto GP World Series, Italian GT, International GT Open, Blancpain GT Series, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia (Champion in 2015), V8 Supercar Pirtek Enduro Cup, Porsche Carrera Cup (Champion in 2017 and 2018), China GT Championship (Champion in 2017), GT World Challenge Asia, Lamborghini Super Trofeo (Champion in 2019 and 2023), and TCR New Zealand (Champion in 2021).

Throughout his career, Christopher van der Drift has achieved over 70 victories, 173 podiums, 51 pole positions, and 46 fastest race laps. He is recognized as a versatile driver, capable of extracting maximum performance from any car he drives and he currently competes in the Asian Le Mans Series for Absolute Motorsport.
