Charles Weerts

Charles Weerts, born on March 1, 2001, is a Belgian racing driver currently making waves in the GT World Challenge Europe. Hailing from Verviers, Belgium, Weerts began his motorsport journey in karting before transitioning to single-seaters. He made his debut in the ADAC Formula 4 Championship in 2017. The following Formula 4 UAE season, Weerts was crowned series champion.

Weerts transitioned to sports car racing in 2019, joining the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT for the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup. A defining moment came in 2020 when he partnered with Dries Vanthoor, securing the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup title. This success earned him Audi factory driver status in 2021. Continuing his ascent, Weerts was announced as a BMW M Motorsport factory driver in December 2022, continuing with Team WRT. In his first race as an official BMW factory driver, the 2023 Kyalami 9 Hours, Weerts scored the overall victory alongside Vanthoor and Sheldon van der Linde.

Beyond racing, Weerts is also dedicated to his education. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Business Economics at Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.
