Marco MAPELLI

Marco Mapelli, born on August 1, 1987, is an Italian racing driver who has made a name for himself in the world of GT racing. Although some sources list him as Swiss, his nationality is Italian. Mapelli is a Lamborghini factory driver since 2017, a role that highlights his skill and dedication. He began his racing journey in Italian and Australian lower formulae before transitioning to the GT scene in the late 2000s. His early success includes winning the Italian GT Sprint Championship's GTC class in 2010.

Mapelli's career gained momentum with a second-place finish in the 2011 Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, leading to a permanent move to GT3 competition. He spent several seasons competing in the International GT Open and Italian GT, securing runner-up positions twice in the latter. His career highlight came in 2019 when, driving for FFF Racing Team alongside Andrea Caldarelli, he clinched both the GT World Challenge Europe and Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup titles, crowning them Blancpain GT Series champions.

Since his championship-winning year, Mapelli has continued to race for Lamborghini-affiliated teams in various GT3 series, including the GT World Challenge Endurance Cup, ADAC GT Masters, and Asian Le Mans Series. In 2022, he joined K-PAX Racing to compete in the 24 Hours of Spa, marking another significant chapter in his career. Known for his experience and adaptability, Mapelli's contributions extend beyond racing, including tire development and simulation work for Lamborghini.
