Maro Engel, born on August 27, 1985, is a German professional racing driver currently residing in Monaco. As a Mercedes-AMG factory driver since 2008 and brand ambassador since 2017, Engel has established himself as a prominent figure in the world of GT racing.

Engel's career boasts an impressive list of achievements, including FIA GT World Cup Champion in 2015 and 2024, and a Nürburgring 24-hour race victory in 2016. He is also a two-time winner of the Daytona 24 Hours in GTD & GTD Pro (2021, 2023), a three-time Macau Grand Prix GT Cup winner (2014, 2015, 2022), Petit Le Mans 10h winner in GTD PRO (2023), Suzuka 10h winner (2018), GT World Challenge Endurance Cup Champion (2018), and a DTM race winner. In addition to these victories, Engel set a new record for road-legal production cars on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 2024, with a time of 6:29.090 in a Mercedes-AMG ONE.

Currently, Engel competes in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 in series such as DTM, GT World Challenge Europe, IMSA, Intercontinental GT Challenge, and the FIA GT World Cup. Throughout his career, he has participated in various racing series, including Formula Three, Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM), GT World Challenge, IMSA, Intercontinental GT Challenge, FIA Formula E, V8 Supercars, F3000, and WRC.
