Racing driver Laurens Vanthoor

Laurens Vanthoor, born on May 8, 1991, is a highly accomplished Belgian racing driver currently competing for Porsche Motorsport in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Known for his versatility and success across various racing disciplines, Vanthoor began his career in karting before transitioning to single-seaters and ultimately finding his niche in GT racing. He lives in Waiblingen, Germany and is the older brother of BMW factory driver Dries Vanthoor.

Vanthoor's career boasts an impressive list of achievements, including victories in prestigious endurance races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2018), 24 Hours of Nürburgring (2015), and 24 Hours of Spa (2014). He secured the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTLM title in 2019 and the GTD title in 2021. Before joining Porsche in 2017, Vanthoor enjoyed considerable success as an Audi factory driver, claiming titles in the Intercontinental GT Challenge (2016), Blancpain GT Series (2014), and FIA GT Series (2013).

Currently, Vanthoor is a key member of the Porsche Penske Motorsport team, driving the Porsche 963 in the WEC Hypercar class. With multiple podium finishes and a wealth of experience, he aims to add more victories to his already stellar career, hoping for a Hypercar victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
