Jessica Bäckman

Jessica Bäckman, born on August 25, 1997, is a Swedish racing driver currently competing in the GT4 European Series for racing one. Hailing from Boden, Sweden, she began her motorsport journey in karting at a young age, making her debut in the North Swedish Championship in 2006. Progressing through the ranks, she achieved significant success in karting, including multiple Swedish championships and strong performances in international competitions.

Bäckman transitioned to touring car racing in 2018, joining the TCR UK Touring Car Championship and securing a podium finish at Brands Hatch. She further expanded her career by participating in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. In 2021, Jessica achieved a significant milestone by competing in the FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR), becoming the first woman to score World Cup points in the series. In 2022, she raced in the ADAC TCR Germany Touring Car Championship, finishing as Vice Champion with four wins and nine podiums, marking a historic achievement as the first woman to finish in the top three in the championship.

In 2023, Bäckman embarked on a new challenge in the GT4 European Series, partnering with her brother Andreas Bäckman. Beyond racing, she also works as a Marketing Manager. Her accomplishments include Vice Champion in ADAC TCR Germany 2022, several international race wins in TCR, three Swedish Championships, and a sixth-place finish in the FIA Motorsport Games. Jessica lists Michael Schumacher and Tom Cruise as her role models, and her interests include motorsport, marketing, gym workouts, and running.
