James Baldwin

James Baldwin, born on August 28, 1997, is a British racing driver who has carved a unique path into professional motorsport. Baldwin's journey began in karting at the age of eight, quickly establishing himself as a formidable talent by securing five national championships. After transitioning to Formula Ford in 2015, he faced funding challenges, which led him to shift his focus to sim racing. He rapidly ascended in the esports world, earning the title of "World's Fastest Gamer" in 2019. The prize for this victory was a full season in the British GT Championship.

In 2020, racing with Jenson Button's race team in a McLaren 720s, Baldwin made an immediate impact, winning his debut race and securing multiple pole positions and podium finishes. Unable to secure sufficient backing to continue racing, James returned to esports where he continued his winning ways, also being named Autosport's Esports Driver of the Year. This led to him joining the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Esports Team. In 2022 and 2024, Baldwin competed in the 24 Hours of Spa with Garage 59, showcasing his ability to race among the best GT drivers in the world.

In 2024, Baldwin achieved his first GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup podium with a 3rd place finish in the Bronze Cup category at the 6 Hours of Jeddah. He plans to compete for victories in full seasons of the European and British GT Championships in 2025. Baldwin's ambition is to become the first gamer to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
