Hugo De Sadeleer is a Swiss professional racing driver born on July 16, 1997, in Lausanne, Switzerland. De Sadeleer began his racing journey in karting at the age of twelve in 2009. Showing early promise, he transitioned to single-seaters in 2012, participating in the Formula BMW Talent Cup. He then signed with Tech 1 Racing to compete in the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps and Eurocup championships.
In 2017, De Sadeleer joined United Autosports, marking his entry into endurance racing in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) and the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 category. His debut season was highly successful, earning him the "Rookie of the Year" title. Alongside this individual achievement, he secured victories, multiple podium finishes, and an impressive fourth place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Continuing with United Autosports for a second season, he participated in ELMS, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the 24 Hours of Daytona.
Throughout his career, De Sadeleer has showcased his talent in various racing series, including Formula Renault Eurocup, and Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe. His early racing also saw him balancing his studies at the Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland, achieving his international baccalaureate while pursuing his motorsport ambitions.
