Gerald Kraut is an American endurance racing driver with over 25 years of experience in motorsports. Born on October 21, 1951, in Minnesota, Kraut's passion for racing ignited in his teenage years. He honed his skills at the Barber Racing School in the 1980s, setting the stage for a successful career in Spec, Open Wheel, and Sports Prototypes.
Kraut has achieved significant milestones throughout his career. In 2021, he secured a notable victory in the Monza Round of the Michelin Le Mans Cup with United Autosports, driving alongside Scott Andrews. That same year, the duo finished second at Barcelona, ultimately finishing fifth in the MLMC Driver's standings. His accomplishments also include LMP3 wins at Sebring and Road America in 2020, and a win in the June Sprints FC in 2014. Earlier in his career, he was the Star Mazda Master Class Runner-Up (2008-2009) and claimed multiple regional SRF and FC race wins between 2001 and 2007.
In 2023, Kraut returned to United Autosports with Andrews for another Michelin Le Mans Cup season, marking a continuation of a successful partnership. Before that he competed in the IMSA SportsCar WeatherTech Championship (LMP3 class) in 2022. Kraut's extensive racing background also includes participation in the Star Mazda Series, IMSA Lites, and the F2000 Championship Series, with over 20 podium finishes to his name.
