Edward Sandström

Edward Sandström, born on January 4, 1979, is a versatile Swedish racing driver with experience in various motorsport disciplines, including rallycross, sports cars, and touring cars. Sandström's career began in karting during the early 1990s. He transitioned to cars in 1999, competing in the Volvo S40 Junior Touring Car Cup, where he secured the championship title in 2000. From 2001 to 2004, he participated in formula racing series, achieving a runner-up position in the Zetec class of Swedish Formula Ford in 2001. He also competed in the Formula Renault V6 Eurocup, with his best overall placement being 17th in 2003.

Sandström's success continued in GT racing, where he competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia from 2006 to 2010, claiming the championship title in 2007. He also participated in the FIA GT3 European Championship in 2010 and 2011 with Schubert Motorsport, driving a BMW Z4 GT3, finishing sixth overall in 2010. He has also participated in ADAC GT Masters. In the realm of endurance racing, Sandström has competed in several 24-hour races, including the Nürburgring 24 Hours, where he achieved a second-place finish in the SP9 GT3 classification in 2010 and a class victory in 2015.
