Known for his versatility and speed, Vanthoor currently competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship with BMW M Team WRT. He is the younger brother of Porsche factory driver Laurens Vanthoor.
Prior to joining BMW, Vanthoor established himself as a force to be reckoned with as an Audi factory driver. During this time, he secured prestigious victories, including the 2018 Bathurst 12 Hours and the 2019 24 Hours of Nürburgring. Alongside Charles Weerts, he also dominated the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup, clinching three consecutive titles from 2020 to 2022. In 2024, driving the #15 BMW M Hybrid V8 with Marco Wittmann and Raffaele Marciello, Vanthoor impressively secured pole position for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, demonstrating his ability to extract maximum performance from his car.
