Transitioning to sports car racing, he initially competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany for his father's team, Farnbacher Racing, and also participated in the Porsche Supercup.

Farnbacher's career highlights include winning the GT class at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2005 with Farnbacher Racing.
