Pangkalahatang-ideya ng Racer

Audunn Gudmundsson, born on August 17, 1971, is an Icelandic amateur racing driver and businessman hailing from Garðabær. He made history as the first Icelandic driver to compete in the Michelin Le Mans Cup. In 2021, he entered the Michelin Le Mans Cup with Team Thor, driving a Ligier JS P320-Nissan in the LMP3 class alongside British driver Tom Ashton.

Gudmundsson's path to racing wasn't typical. Lacking family involvement or financial support in motorsport, he initially raced snowmobiles, quads, and jet skis. Later, he briefly tried karting but faced limitations due to the absence of dedicated tracks in Iceland. His passion for car racing, particularly Formula 1, fueled his dream of competing on real tracks. After achieving success in business, he co-bought a Radical SR3 in 2012 and entered the Radical Challenge Championship in 2019.

In 2020, Gudmundsson and Tom Ashton secured the Radical SR3 Teams Championship title. This success led to the formation of Team Thor, marking Iceland's first-ever international sportscar race team. The team, composed of Icelandic and Finnish personnel, reflects Gudmundsson's pride in his heritage. He considers Tom Ashton a phenomenal driver, a good person and an excellent teacher.
