Racing driver Kevin Magnussen

Kevin Jan Magnussen, born on October 5, 1992, is a Danish racing driver with a rich motorsport pedigree. The son of four-time Le Mans class winner and former F1 driver Jan Magnussen, Kevin began karting at a young age before transitioning to Formula Ford in Denmark, where he dominated the championship in 2008 with 11 wins in 15 races. His talent was quickly recognized, leading to a spot in McLaren's young driver program and progression through various junior series, including Formula Renault. In 2013, he clinched the Formula Renault 3.5 Series title, solidifying his reputation as a top prospect.

Magnussen made his Formula 1 debut with McLaren in 2014, impressively securing a second-place finish in his first race at the Australian Grand Prix. After a stint as a McLaren reserve driver and a season with Renault, he joined Haas F1 Team in 2017. After departing from Haas in 2020, Kevin made a surprising return to Haas in 2022 and drove for them until the end of the 2024 season. He is currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship for WRT and the IMSA SportsCar Championship for RLL as a factory driver for BMW.

Throughout his F1 career, Magnussen has demonstrated a tenacious driving style and a knack for scoring points. While a second podium has eluded him since his debut, he has consistently delivered solid performances, contributing to Haas's best-ever constructors' championship result in 2018. Away from the track, Magnussen is married to Louise Gjørup and they have two daughters, residing in Copenhagen.
