Katsumasa Chiyo, born on December 9, 1986, in Tokyo, Japan, is a highly accomplished Japanese racing driver. He is currently a factory driver for Nissan, competing in the Autobacs Super GT Series. Chiyo's racing journey began in karting at the age of 15, leading him to participate in the Nissan Driver Development Program (NDDP) audition in 2006, where he earned a scholarship. He then entered the Formula Challenge Japan (FCJ) series, showcasing his talent by finishing third in 2008.

Chiyo's career took off as he transitioned to the All-Japan Formula Three Championship, securing the National Class title in 2011 with NDDP Racing. His success extended to international GT racing, where he joined the Blancpain Endurance Series (now GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup) in 2014. Driving a Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 for RJN Motorsport, he achieved a significant milestone by winning the 2015 series alongside Alex Buncombe and Wolfgang Reip. The trio's victory at the 1000 km Paul Ricard and a third-place finish at the Nürburgring cemented their championship win.

In recent years, Chiyo has been a prominent figure in the Super GT series, consistently demonstrating his skills in the GT500 class. He also has experience in other major races such as the Intercontinental GT Challenge and the Bathurst 12 Hour race, where he has also achieved success. With a career spanning various racing categories and numerous achievements, Katsumasa Chiyo has established himself as a respected and accomplished driver in the world of motorsports.
