Shane Van Gisbergen

Shane Robert van Gisbergen, born on May 9, 1989, is a New Zealand professional racing driver known by his initials, SVG. A versatile talent, Van Gisbergen has achieved success in various racing disciplines, including Supercars, GT racing, and rallying. SVG's career began at a young age, racing ATVs and quarter midgets before transitioning to karts and eventually tarmac racing through a scholarship.

Van Gisbergen is a three-time Supercars Champion, securing titles in 2016, 2021, and 2022. He has amassed over 80 wins in the Supercars Championship, establishing himself as one of the series' all-time greats. Besides his Supercars success, Van Gisbergen has also demonstrated his abilities in GT racing, winning the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and the Bathurst 12 Hour in 2016. In 2023, he joined the NASCAR Cup Series and shocked the racing world by winning the inaugural Chicago Street Race in his debut.

Currently, SVG is competing full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2025, driving the No. 88 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing. He also runs part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 9 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports.
