Joey Hand

Joey Hand, born Joseph Alan Hand on February 10, 1979, is a highly accomplished American professional racing driver. Known for his versatility and skill, Hand competes primarily in sports car racing and is a Ford factory driver. He resides outside Sacramento, California, with his wife, Natalie, and their two children; his son, Chase, is also pursuing a racing career.

Hand's career began in karting at age 12, and he quickly progressed to the Star Mazda Series, where he was named Rookie of the Year in 1998 and won the championship in 1999. He then moved to the Toyota Atlantic series, achieving two wins and a third-place finish in 2001. His career highlights include co-winning the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2011 with Chip Ganassi Racing, the 12 Hours of Sebring GT class in 2012 with BMW Team Rahal, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans LMGTE Pro class in 2016 with Ford Chip Ganassi Team USA, driving the Ford GT.

Prior to joining Ford in 2015, Hand achieved numerous victories in Grand-Am, ALMS, and DTM. In 2024, he piloted the #65 Ford Mustang GT3 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship before transitioning to the Mustang GT3 customer team, Gradient Racing, for the 2025 season. Hand also has experience in NASCAR, making his debut in the Cup Series in 2021 and participating in several road course races.
