Takamitsu Matsui

Takamitsu Matsui, born on December 15, 1987, is a Japanese racing driver hailing from Hiroshima Prefecture. He is currently associated with Toyota Gazoo Racing and competes in the Super GT series for Hoppy Team Tsuchiya. Matsui's career began in kart racing before transitioning to single-seaters. In 2006, he made his debut in the Okayama FJ1600 series, impressively securing the championship title with four wins.

Matsui's success extends beyond single-seaters. In 2009, he entered the Super Taikyu series, clinching a class championship. He has continued to achieve remarkable results in the Super Taikyu series, securing multiple class championships in 2017, 2018 and 2022. A significant milestone in his career came in 2016 when he won the Super GT GT300 class championship alongside Takeshi Tsuchiya. Furthermore, Matsui has demonstrated his talent on the international stage, with multiple participations in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, including class wins in 2018 and 2019.
