Ryuichiro Tomita

Ryuichiro Tomita, born on October 28, 1988, is a Japanese racing driver with a diverse career spanning various racing categories. Tomita's career began in his mid-20s after obtaining his driver's license at 21, a somewhat unconventional path in motorsports. He quickly made his mark, securing the GT-R Prestige Cup series championship in 2013 before transitioning to Super GT in 2014 in the GT300 class. He has since become a familiar face in Super GT, demonstrating his skill behind the wheel of the Audi R8 LMS for Audi Team Hitotsuyama since 2018 and currently competing for GAINER in Super GT.

Tomita's achievements include a Super Taikyu ST-1 class title in 2017. He has also participated in international competitions such as the Intercontinental GT Challenge and the FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR). In 2019, he joined Ritomo Miyata as a wildcard entry in the WTCR Race of Japan, driving an Audi RS3 LMS for Audi Team Hitotsuyama. Furthermore, he secured 2nd in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup (Silver Category) in 2021.

Throughout his career, Tomita has demonstrated versatility and adaptability, racing in GT300, Super Taikyu, and GT World Challenge Europe, showcasing his skills in different types of racing environments. His favorite tracks include Suzuka, Nordschleife and SUGO and he admires drivers such as Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Raikkonen, Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell and Kamui Kobayashi.
