Sebastien Bourdais

Sébastien Bourdais, born February 28, 1979, is a French professional racing driver with a diverse and highly successful career spanning multiple racing disciplines. He currently competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Cadillac Hertz Team Jota in the Hypercar category. Bourdais's journey began in karting at the age of 10, leading to championships in French Formula Renault and French Formula Three. He then progressed to International Formula 3000, where he secured the title in 2002.

His career truly took off in American open-wheel racing. He joined Champ Car in 2003 and dominated the series from 2004 to 2007, winning an unprecedented four consecutive championships. This era saw him amass 37 race wins, making him one of the most successful drivers in American open-wheel history. After Champ Car, Bourdais ventured into Formula 1 with Scuderia Toro Rosso in 2008 and 2009. Following his time in F1, he returned to IndyCar in 2011, showcasing his adaptability and continued talent, he also participated in the IndyCar Series until 2021.

Beyond open-wheel racing, Bourdais has a strong presence in sports car racing. He has been associated with prestigious teams like Peugeot Sport and Ford Performance, achieving significant victories, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2016 (GTE-Pro class) and the Rolex 24 at Daytona (overall in 2014 and GTLM in 2017 and LMP2 in 2025). He has three runner-up finishes at Le Mans. With over 76 career race wins to date, Bourdais continues to compete at the highest levels of motorsport, demonstrating his skill, versatility, and passion for racing.
