Tonis Kasemets, born on March 17, 1974, is an Estonian-American racing driver with a diverse career spanning various racing series. Kasemets began his racing journey in karting in 1982, achieving early success by winning Baltic championships in 1992 and 1993. In 1995, he moved to the United States to pursue racing in American series, progressing through the open-wheel ranks. By 2004, he was competing in the Toyota Atlantic series, where he finished second in the 2005 championship.
Kasemets participated in a partial Champ Car World Series schedule in 2006 with Rocketsports Racing. In 2010, he debuted in Firestone Indy Lights. Beyond open-wheel racing, Kasemets has also competed in Grand-Am Road Racing events, including the 2013 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. He has also raced in F2000 and F1600. More recently, Kasemets secured the 2022 IMSA Prototype Challenge championship, marking a significant achievement in his career.
Currently residing in Illinois and holding both U.S. citizenship and an Estonian license, Kasemets remains active in the racing community. Besides driving, he serves as a driver consultant in US F2000, a driver coach, and a race engineer for K-Hill Motorsports, leveraging his extensive experience to mentor aspiring drivers. He also owns Team Tonis, which joined the USF Juniors series in 2024.
