Tom Nittel, born on August 23, 2002, is a rising German racing driver who has quickly made a name for himself in various motorsport disciplines. Nittel's journey began after a successful stint as a competitive swimmer from the age of six to sixteen. He transitioned to motorsports, following in the footsteps of his father, Uwe Nittel, a former rally professional.
In 2019, Nittel participated in the ADAC Slalom Youngster Cup, where he qualified for the national final. In his debut motorsport season, he secured an impressive fifth place in the final among the top drivers from 18 ADAC regional clubs. By 2020, he had earned his racing license through strong performances in the NATC-Youngster-Cup. Despite the limitations imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Nittel dominated the DMV BMW Cup and Challenge, claiming titles in the DMV BMW Challenge, DMV BMW 318ti Sprint Cup, and DMV BMW 318ti Team Cup. He also finished fourth out of 42 teams in the DMV BMW 318ti Cup during his first season on the circuit.
Continuing his ascent, Nittel competed in the BMW M2 Cup in 2021 and 2022, showcasing his talent on challenging tracks like the Norisring. Highlights from these seasons include a third-place finish at the Lausitzring and a second-place finish at the Norisring in Nuremberg. In 2023, Nittel advanced to the Porsche Sports Cup, piloting a 510PS Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car. His debut year in the Porsche saw him achieve multiple podium finishes and an overall victory. In 2024, Nittel achieved his first victory in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GT3.
