Mauricio Jorge Lambiris, born on March 3, 1987, is a professional racing driver hailing from Montevideo, Uruguay. Though born in Uruguay, he moved to Buenos Aires at a young age. Lambiris's journey into motorsport began with karting at the age of seven, inspired by his father, Jorge, an amateur driver. Despite initial parental interest in football, Mauricio pursued his passion for racing alongside childhood friend Guido Falaschi. He progressed through various series, including Fórmula 1000 Argentina and Fórmula Renault Argentina, before returning to karting in 2007.
Lambiris made a comeback to car racing in 2010 in Turismo Libre Uruguayo. After an accident that resulted in a broken leg, he returned to racing in TC Rioplatense in late 2011, before joining TC Mouras in 2012. His career advanced steadily, culminating in a debut in Turismo Carretera in 2015. Driving a Torino, he qualified for the Copa de Oro in his first season and repeated the feat in 2016. A switch to Ford in 2017 led to his first Turismo Carretera victory at the 2018 Carrera del Millón in Rafaela, making him the second non-Argentine to win a race in the series.
Throughout his Turismo Carretera career, Lambiris has consistently qualified for the playoffs, showcasing his talent and determination. In 2021, he achieved a significant milestone by finishing as runner-up to Mariano Werner in the championship. Currently, Mauricio Lambiris continues to compete in Turismo Carretera, holding an FIA Silver racing license and driving for teams such as Dole Racing, Martínez Competición, LCA Racing, and Alifraco Sport. He has 127 starts, 2 wins, and 3 pole positions in the category.
