Lorenzo Cossu is a young and promising Italian racing driver hailing from Assemini, Sardinia. Born in 2004, Cossu has quickly made a name for himself in the world of Gran Turismo racing. By the age of 20, he has already achieved significant success, particularly while racing with the Ferrari 488.
Cossu's career gained momentum in the Predators Championship, a series featuring single-seater cars powered by motorcycle engines. His talent caught the eye of Max Colombo, who encouraged him to transition to the GT category. This led to a test with a team, which Cossu successfully passed, marking a pivotal moment in his career.
In 2022, Cossu won the Italian Gran Turismo Championship. Following that success, he competed in the European Championship in 2023, securing second place against competitors from Spain, France, and Germany. In 2024, he clinched the Italian National GT Challenge title in the GT Cup Light category, showcasing his versatility and skill across different racing series. He currently races with the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo of the Scuderia Ravetto and Ruberti. Beyond racing, Cossu shares his expertise by offering guidance courses for young aspiring drivers.
