Karl Thomson is a Canadian racing driver and successful entrepreneur. He founded Compass 360 Brand Architects in 1994 and later launched Compass Racing (originally known as Compass 360 Racing) in 2003. Compass Racing has achieved considerable success, winning over 50 professional sports car races and multiple championships.
Thomson himself has a strong racing record. He was the 2003 CASC (Canadian Automobile Sports Club) GT Sprints champion and Canadian Touring Car Rookie of the Year. In 2007, he finished second in the KONI Challenge ST class, securing four wins that season. He also finished second in the Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car class in 2014 and took second in the GX class of the Rolex 24 At Daytona in 2013. In 2019, he co-drove with Jarrett Andretti in SRO GT4, achieving two wins. According to SnapLap, Thomson has 13 wins, 26 podiums, 1 pole position and 5 fastest laps in 73 starts.
Beyond racing, Thomson is known for his charitable work within the racing community. He and his team received the Children's Tumor Foundation's Humanitarian Award in 2014. He is also a board member of The Race Day Foundation, which supports children's charities. Currently, C360R fields McLaren and Audi cars in various IMSA and Pirelli World Challenge series.
