John Bowe, born on April 16, 1954, is a highly decorated Australian racing driver whose career spans over four decades. He began racing at the age of 16, quickly making a name for himself by winning the Tasmanian Formula Vee Championship in 1971. This early success paved the way for a diverse and accomplished career in various racing categories, including Formula Ford, Formula 2, and Formula 5000.
Bowe's achievements include two Australian Drivers' Championships (1984, 1985), an Australian Sports Car Championship (1986), and the prestigious Australian Touring Car Championship in 1995. He is also a two-time Bathurst 1000 winner, having conquered the mountain in 1989 and 1994, both times alongside Dick Johnson. In addition to his touring car accolades, Bowe has demonstrated his versatility by winning the Bathurst 12 Hour race twice, in 2010 and 2014.
