While some sources list his nationality as American and hometown as Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, other sources confirm he is originally from Mexico City where he attended dental school, graduating in the top 5% of his class from the Universidad Tecnológica de México in 1999.
In addition to his racing accomplishments, Guzman is also an accomplished pianist, having started playing at the age of 7. He enjoys creating his own musical arrangements based on cinematic scores.
