Derek Jones is an American race car driver with experience ranging from Vintage Formula One to modern Prototypes and GT Cars. He has secured wins across various racing disciplines. Jones is also a businessman and a SAG-accredited stunt driver.
In 2023, Jones partnered with Mark Pombo to form Pombo Jones Motorsports and compete in the Toyota GR Cup. Jones and Pombo have a history of racing together and against each other since the VW TDI Cup in 2008, including factory efforts with Mazda, Nissan, Kia, and MINI. They decided to take more control over their program and focus on close competition and developing new cars in the Toyota GR Cup, an all-new single-make race series.
