Christian Menzel, born on June 22, 1971, is a German racing driver whose career began in karting in 1981. Menzel's career highlights include winning the German Kart Trophy in 1989, the 24-hour races at the Nürburgring (1998) and Daytona, and the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany (2005) and Asia.
From 1991, he competed in ADAC BMW Formula Junior, Formula Renault, and Formula 3. In 1996, he transitioned to touring cars, joining the Super Touring Car Cup and later becoming a works driver for BMW. This period saw him achieve a 3rd place at the Spa 24 Hours in 1997, earn the title of STW Rookie of the Year in 1997, and secure an overall victory in the 1998 Nürburgring 24 Hours.
Menzel is known for his extensive experience in Porsche one-make cups, beginning in 1999. Besides racing, Christian Menzel contributes his expertise as a driving safety and dynamics expert, TV commentator, and test driver for "auto, motor und sport's" Fast Lap format. He also mentors young drivers, including his son Nico Menzel, with whom he has shared a VLN podium.
