Ayla Ågren, born on July 23, 1993, is a Norwegian-Swedish racing driver who represents Norway in her racing career. Ågren's journey in motorsport began in karting across Europe and Scandinavia during her childhood. Inspired by seeing female racers, she moved to the United States to pursue her professional racing dream.
In 2014, Ayla won the F1600 Championship Series, marking a significant achievement in her career. She later participated in the U.S. F2000 National Championship. Ayla's career also includes participation in the W Series, a European-based Formula 3 championship solely for women. In 2019, she initially failed to qualify for the inaugural W Series season. After this, she landed a job as an IndyCar safety car driver. She successfully made the 20-car grid in her second attempt in 2020, before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beyond racing, Ayla has a variety of interests including traveling, reading, and renovating. She also worked as a spotter for Ben Hanley in INDYCAR and others in sports car racing. She has aspirations to drive the Indy 500. As of today, she is not actively competing.
