Preston Calvert

Preston Calvert, born on April 14, 1955, is an American racing driver hailing from Potomac, Maryland. Calvert's racing journey showcases a diverse background, blending a passion for motorsports with a distinguished career in medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and as a Medical Adviser to the Pirelli World Challenge. He initially pursued off-road motorcycles before transitioning to competitive road racing in 2011.

Calvert's racing accolades include being the SCCA Club Racing National Points Champion in 2014 and co-champion in 2015 in the Touring-2 class. He also secured a third-place finish at the SCCA Runoffs at Daytona International Speedway in 2015. In the Pirelli World Challenge, Calvert was named Rookie of the Year in the GTS class in 2015 and contributed to Ford's Manufacturer's Championship in GTS. He achieved two SprintX wins in 2016 and three third-place GT Cup finishes in the same year. He finished second overall in the 2017 edition of the 25 Hours of Thunderhill.

Throughout his career, Calvert has piloted a variety of cars, including a 2018 Panoz Avezzano GT4, a 2018 Porsche 991.2 GT3 Cup car, a 2010 Chevrolet Corvette SCCA GT2, and a 2012 Ford Mustang SCCA T2, demonstrating his versatility across different racing classes. Beyond racing, Calvert is an Army veteran and a member of Racing Safety United (RSU), highlighting his commitment to safety advocacy in motorsports.
