Luca Marini, born on August 10, 1997, in Urbino, Italy, is a Grand Prix motorcycle racer currently contracted with Honda HRC Castrol for 2024 and 2025. Known for his analytical approach to racing, Marini comes from a motorcycle-focused family as the half-brother of Valentino Rossi.
Marini's career progressed through Italian junior series, culminating in a fourth-place finish in the 2013 CIV Moto3 Championship. He then moved to the Spanish CEV Moto3 series and later the Moto2 European Championship. In 2016, he debuted in the Moto2 World Championship full-time. His breakthrough came in 2018 with Sky Racing Team VR46, securing his first Grand Prix win in Sepang. In 2020, he finished as runner-up in the Moto2 World Championship.
Marini stepped up to MotoGP in 2021, initially with Esponsorama Racing before joining Mooney VR46 Racing Team. In 2023, he achieved his first premier class podium in Austin and his first pole position at the Indonesian Grand Prix, finishing the season in eighth place. For 2024, Marini joined the official Honda HRC team, aiming to contribute to the Japanese brand's progress in MotoGP.
