Earl Bamber, born on July 9, 1990, is a highly accomplished racing driver hailing from Whanganui, New Zealand. Bamber began his motorsport journey in karting at a young age, securing numerous championships in New Zealand. His career progressed through single-seater series, highlighted by winning the 2006 Formula BMW Asia title. After achieving success in Formula Renault V6 and Australian Formula 3, he transitioned to GT racing, where he truly made his mark.
Bamber's career reached new heights when he caught the attention of Porsche, leading to a factory driver role. He dominated the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, winning the title in both 2013 and 2014. Bamber's skill and determination earned him a coveted spot in Porsche's LMP1 program, culminating in two overall victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2015 and 2017. In 2017, he also secured the FIA World Endurance Championship title. Continuing his success, Bamber won the IMSA SportsCar Championship in 2019 and the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2023.
Currently, Earl Bamber competes in the IMSA SportsCar Championship for Cadillac Whelen and serves as a factory driver for Corvette Racing. Beyond his driving career, Bamber is also a team owner, running Earl Bamber Motorsport, which supports young drivers.
