Phil Burgan

Phil Burgan, born on December 6, 1951, is a former racing driver from the United Kingdom with a notable presence in the world of motorsports. Before his racing career, Burgan trained as a pharmacist and later became a successful businessman, founding the Maria Mallaband Care Group Ltd.

Burgan's racing career highlights include participation in the UK Ferrari Championship in 1996, followed by the European Ferrari Challenge from 1997 to 1999. In 2006, he competed in the Trofeo Maserati Championship. After retiring from racing, Burgan established the Phil Burgan Race Academy to support and nurture young British racing talents. The academy notably supported James Toseland and Danny Kent. Additionally, Burgan's care home company has sponsored the Tech 3 Moto2 team. In 2013, Burgan came out of retirement to compete in the Peking to Paris Motor Challenge endurance rally, aiming to raise funds for the Prince's Trust.

Beyond racing, Burgan has had a successful business career. He honed his business skills at Jamieson Ltd. and later turned around a struggling company, LICS Ltd., into a profitable venture. He also managed Coopers Chemists before starting his own chemist business, Medimart Ltd., which expanded to 38 branches before he sold it in 1995.
