René Rast, born on October 26, 1986, is a German professional racing driver and a three-time DTM champion (2017, 2019, and 2020). Rast has demonstrated versatility and skill across various racing disciplines, marking himself as a formidable competitor in the motorsport world. Currently racing for Schubert Motorsport in the DTM with BMW, Rast continues to pursue his passion for racing and adding to his impressive resume. His career highlights include multiple wins in prestigious endurance races, such as the 24 Hours of Spa (2012, 2014), the 24 Hours of Nürburgring (2014), and the 24 Hours of Daytona (2012, 2016 in GTD class).

Rast's journey to the top began in karting and Formula BMW before transitioning to sports car racing. He secured titles in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany (2008, 2012) and the Porsche Supercup (2010, 2011, 2012). Furthermore, he claimed the ADAC GT Masters title in 2014. Rast's success in GT racing paved the way for his entry into the DTM, where he quickly established himself as a dominant force. Besides his DTM achievements, Rast has also participated in the FIA World Endurance Championship, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with a best finish of fourth in the LMP2 class in 2014.
