Mattia Michelotto, born on January 11, 2003, is a promising Italian racing driver who has quickly made a name for himself in the GT racing world. Hailing from Abano Terme, near Padua, Italy, Michelotto began his motorsport journey at the young age of five, initially lapping in a go-kart near his home. His early passion soon translated into a successful career, marked by grit and determination.

Michelotto's ascent through the racing ranks has been rapid. In 2019, he transitioned from karting to GT cars, winning his class in the Italian Gran Turismo Championship Cup with the Antonelli team. This early success paved the way for him to join the Lamborghini Young Driver Programme after debuting in the Super Trofeo Europe with Vincenzo Sospiri Racing (VSR). His talent was quickly recognized, and he became a Lamborghini Young Professional Driver.

Michelotto's achievements include an Italian GT Cup title and a Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals title, secured in 2021 with teammate Karol Basz. In 2023, he narrowly missed out on the Italian GT Championship Sprint Cup, finishing second. That same year, racing with Gilles Stadsbader in the Super Trofeo Europe, the duo claimed five race wins but ultimately finished second in the championship. He has continued to race in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe series, and in 2024 won a race at Le Mans. He also competes in the GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS, driving a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 for Barwell Motorsport, teaming with Patrick Kujala, Gabriel Rindone, and Casper Stevenson. In 2024, driving with Gilles Stadsbader for VS Racing, he won the opening Sprint Cup race of the Italian GT Championship season at Misano Adriatico. Michelotto has expressed a strong desire to win, disliking finishing second.
