Matías Leonardo Rossi, born on April 2, 1984, is a prominent Argentine race car driver. Known by his nickname "Granadero Misil" or "The Missile", Rossi currently competes full-time in the Turismo Carretera, driving the No. 117 Toyota Camry for Toyota Gazoo Racing, and in the Stock Car Pro Series in Brazil, driving the No. 117 Toyota Corolla for Full Time Sports. Rossi's career highlights include championships in multiple series, including Turismo Carretera (2014), Súper TC 2000 (2013, 2020), and Top Race V6 (2019, 2020).
Rossi began his racing journey at the age of 11, participating in go-kart competitions and even venturing into international events like the American Formula A Championships and the World Formula A Championships. Transitioning to formula cars, he competed in Formula Renault Argentina and Formula Súper Renault. His debut in the Turismo Carretera came in 2003, achieving his first victory in 2007 at Comodoro Rivadavia. He also secured the TC 2000 championships in 2006 and 2007 while driving a Chevrolet Astra.
Throughout his career, Rossi has showcased his versatility and skill across various racing series. Besides his championship wins, he has achieved numerous victories and podium finishes. In 2010, he received the Konex Award for his achievements in motorsports. He continues to be a significant force in Argentine and Brazilian motorsports, representing Toyota Gazoo Racing in multiple series.
