Jim Michaelian is an American racing driver and the President/CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach. Born on February 10, 1943, Michaelian's involvement in racing extends beyond the driver's seat. He was the controller for the first Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach in 1975, a Formula 5000 race, and later served as Chief Operating Officer from 1998 to 2001 before becoming President/CEO. In his current role, he is responsible for managing all Grand Prix-related activities, including race circuit management.
Michaelian's professional racing career began in 1992 at the Firestone Firehawk at Sebring. He competed in the Grand-Am series from 1998 to 2013, participating in 15 Daytona 24-Hour races. He has also raced in the 24 Hours of Dubai and the Nürburgring. In January 2014, he co-drove a Porsche 911 to 20th place in its class and 47th overall at Daytona.
A graduate of UCLA with a bachelor's degree in Physics and a master's degree in Business Administration, Michaelian also serves on the board of directors of the Grand Prix Foundation and the Long Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau. His age is 82, as of March 21, 2025.
