James Breakell

James Breakell is a British racing driver and team principal with over 20 years of experience in motorsport. As a driver, he has competed in various championships, including the VLN Championship at the Nürburgring, where he raced a variety of cars such as BMWs, Opel Astras, and Golf GTIs. Early in his career, James raced in the MG Metro Cup, securing a class podium in almost every race and winning the 2003 Winter Class 'A' championship. He also has experience in Radical Sportscars, racing in the Radical Endurance Championship and the Biduro Championship.

Beyond his driving career, James is the Company Director and founder of Breakell Racing, a team that competes in multiple championships across the UK and Europe. The Lancashire-based team has participated in Ginetta series like the Ginetta Junior Championship, GT5 Championship, GT4 Supercup and GT Championship, securing the G56 AM crown in the GT4 Supercup in 2022 with driver Wes Pearce. They also compete in prototype championships and GT4 competition with Mercedes-AMG and Porsche machinery. Breakell Racing has announced their commitment to run the new-for-2025 Ginetta G56 GTP8 in the Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship, demonstrating their continued involvement in the Ginetta paddock.
