Fred Poordad, born on October 8, 1964, is an American racing driver with a diverse motorsports background. Beyond the track, Poordad is a renowned scientist and serves as the Vice President of the Liver Institute at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

Poordad's racing journey includes participation in various series, including the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), GT World Challenge America, and the European Le Mans Series (ELMS). He began racing in Ferrari F430 Challenge and Porsche GT3 Cup cars in Grand-Am and IMSA GT3 Challenge between 2010 and 2013. In 2017, he suffered a major setback at the Bathurst 12 Hour race in Australia, sustaining multiple fractures and a collapsed lung. Following his recovery, he participated in the Porsche Track Experience to regain his form. He won the Am division of the SRO GT World Challenge America in 2020 and the Pro Am class in 2021. In 2023, he achieved a significant milestone by winning the LMP2 class in the 24 Hours of Daytona. Poordad's career highlights include racing in the Porsche 911 RSR in the WEC and competing in the ELMS with Algarve Pro Racing.
